Beyond the Screen: Addressing Digital Risks for Children and Young People
Online Workshop | Free of Charge
We are inviting safeguarding coordinators, school leaders, teachers, pastoral staff to take part in this interactive workshop exploring the complex and evolving landscape of digital risks facing children and young people.
Many children and adolescents encounter online threats without sufficient guidance, leaving them vulnerable to both immediate harm and long-term psychological consequences. This session will focus on how adults can better understand these risks and respond in ways that truly support and protect young people.
Key Focus Areas
-
Digital threats and risks: non-consensual image sharing, sextortion, cyber grooming, and deepfake imagery
-
Impact on young people: emotional, psychological, and social consequences for individuals and their wider communities
-
Youth-centred perspectives: insights into what forms of adult intervention and support are experienced as helpful by young people
There will be space for questions, shared reflection, and the generation of practical ideas on how schools and families can strengthen safeguarding practices in the digital environment.
Keynote Speaker
Marek Spitczok von Brisinski – a coach and consultant for social organisations, with extensive experience in implementing safeguarding programmes. He has worked in counselling centres addressing sexualised violence, supporting those directly affected, their families, and professionals.
