The main objectives of JECSE´s formation programme in Ignatian pedagogy are to help and accompany our colleagues so that they can use IPP in their classrooms and to train trainers who can do the same in their schools, institutions and provinces.
For this reason, we have designed IPP in the classroom, because we think that, after the training received so far, this initiative will allow our colleagues to apply the knowledge acquired in Ignatian pedagogy in the classroom. It is basically an opportunity to continue learning as a community while practising IPP in their schools.
Who is this activity for?
Those educators who have completed any of the recent training activities organised by JECSE: Masterclass + Spring 2024 or Train the trainers.
What are the objectives?
- To offer participants the opportunity to increase and consolidate their expertise in some of the key concepts of IPP and the paradigm of Learning by Refraction.
- To inspire and accompany teachers during the process of designing, implementing and evaluating lesson plans based on the IPP.
- To promote a learning community around IPP that works together and reflects on how to make Ignatian pedagogy a reality in our times and in our educational context.
- To continue training our IPP community so that its members can become trainers in their own schools, institutions and provinces.
Methodology
It is a fully practical training: we will follow the methodology learning by doing and participants will go through the following path:
- Initial formative webinar on how to align the curriculum of each region/country with concepts such as insights and action goals and using authentic assessment.
- Period of individual and group work to design a lesson plan to take to the classroom. During this period, we will promote moments for colleagues to give and receive feedback so that they can learn from each other and grow together.
- Follow-up online meeting to solve doubts before taking the lesson plan to the classroom.
- Period of teaching the lesson plan and evaluation process. We will design rubrics so that participants can do the appropriate follow-up and evaluation.
- Final online meeting to share experiences and draw conclusions.
As you can see, we are describing a process of ongoing training and accompaniment during which we will be very lucky to count on Fr. Johnny Go SJ and Miss Rita Atienza, who will continue to inspire us along the way and share their wisdom and experience with us.
