The main objectives of JECSE´s training programme in Ignatian pedagogy are to help and accompany our colleagues so that they can use IPP in their classrooms and to train formators who can do the same in their schools, institutions and provinces.
For this reason, after other activities in the programme aimed at acquiring the key concepts of Ignatian pedagogy and developing expertise in bringing it into the classroom, we have designed IPP Formators Training: an opportunity to develop qualities as a trainer in Ignatian pedagogy.
Who is this activity for?
- Pedagogical leaders
- Potential formators
- Formators/trainers in training/pedagogical centres
The basic knowledge/experience of IPP is obligatory and, although it is not a prerequisite, it is desirable that the participants have completed some of the recent training activities organised by JECSE: IPP LbR Masterclass+, IPP in the classroom, Pedagogical Leaders Conference.
What are the objectives?
-
The main objective is to provide participants with the initial preparation to organise training workshops in their own contexts and to accompany their colleagues in bringing the IPP into the classroom. To this end, the training will provide them with opportunities to develop their skills as IPP formators and provide ‘spaces’ for them to grow their spirituality.
What are the “cardinal points”?
- A brief look at our FOUNDATIONS: Ignatian spirituality, pedagogy and mission.
- IGNATIAN PEDAGOGY: a tool for mission in the XXI century.
- TRAINING SKILLS.
- SPIRITUAL GROWTH.
What are the expected outcomes?
Participants will be able to:
-
- Deepen their knowledge of Ignatian pedagogy.
- Visualise spaces for developing Ignatian mission and spirituality within the curriculum/teaching practices.
- Practise strategies, dynamics and resources to promote reflection in the classroom.
- Know service learning methodology as a way of promoting Ignatian action.
- Practise some tools to train other colleagues/ adults.
- Acquire a certain expertise designing training workshops on Ignatian pedagogy.
Methodology
The formation is conceived as a process that will have, at least, two phases:
1. Online phase: two online sessions and a period of personal work.
2. Face-to-face phase: onsite meeting in Portugal with Father Jonny Go SJ and Ms. Rita Atienza, together with Ms. Agnieszka Baran, Mr. Pedro Valente, and Ms. Yolanda Baquero.
