IPP Learning by Refraction Masterclass+

Registration for the Autumn 2024 edition is already open!

Aims

This training will allow participants to learn about the fundamental elements of “Learning by Refraction” approach so that they can take them to their own classrooms as well as learn about other contexts and possibilities of IPP implementation by working with educators from the entire JECSE network.

Masterclass+ is also an introductory training for those who would like to become IPP trainers/facilitators in their schools/regions in the future.

Objectives

To acquire the skills and confidence to implement the IPP in the classroom.

  • To analyse the relationship between Ignatian spirituality and pedagogy.
  • To reflect on the current application of Ignatian pedagogical paradigm (IPP) in our schools and exchange good practices.
  • To deepen the understanding of the key elements of the “Learning by refraction” paradigm.
  • To understand the relationship between learning by refraction and current trends in school renewal.
  • To acquire the skills and confidence to implement the IPP in the classroom.

Programme methodology

Most of the training will take place asynchronously. Participants will go through three modules of the training autonomously (watch prepared videos, read prepared materials and share their written reflections online).

We will also have 4 online synchronous sessions to:

– clarify any aspects related to the contents of the training and its organisation.

– accompany the participants in their training process.

– reinforce some key concepts of the learning by refraction paradigm through contextualised practice.

– reflect on the next steps that participants can take in their own contexts.
