Throughout this year, we have had the joy and privilege of walking alongside our schools, being present as they embarked on their educational journeys. We have observed and learnt from the daily lives of teachers and students, sharing in their joys and challenges.

Together, we have gone on pilgrimage and celebrated significant moments. Now, as the school year draws to a close, we feel a deep sense of gratitude for the opportunity to have accompanied these remarkable communities.

At the beginning of July, the Director of JECSE had the honour of attending the graduation galas of two of our schools: Vilniaus Jėzuitų Gimnazija and Kaunas Jesuit Gymnasium. Both schools celebrated the Eucharist, attended by alumni and their families together with school staff. Afterwards, there was a celebration — a wonderful opportunity to reflect on their educational journey so far, celebrate the years spent together at school, and express gratitude to the teachers, parents, classmates, and everyone else who has played such an important role in their journey.

These celebrations were beautiful occasions filled with joy and recognition, as well as the sending off of the next generation of leaders to ‘set the world on fire’. We would especially like to thank the ECE Education Delegate, Ms Gabriele Hudepohl, for her kind invitation, and our colleagues in Lithuania for making this visit possible.

This time in Vilnius also provided an excellent opportunity to start preparing for the upcoming Delegates Meeting in November 2025. This will give us the chance to reflect on the current state of our network and plan the next steps in nurturing and expanding the impact of our Jesuit schools.

As we celebrate these milestones, we look forward to continuing this journey together, with gratitude in our hearts and excitement for what lies ahead.
